Your time here will be spent in awe of the animals that inhabit this wildlife haven. Beneath towering baobab trees or wading through papyrus marshes, elephants are nearly everywhere you look in Tarangire. On your animal game drives, you will wind through the woodlands and along the Tarangire River, scanning for lions and leopards and the prey they stalk. Game walks will show you the little things that game driving cannot—from medicinal plants to wildlife tracks and scat. End your day with a dazzling sunset and a meal under starry skies. This morning, you will depart Tarangire with your driver-guide, traveling through the Rift Valley and up the escarpment past Lake Manyara National Park, visiting local craft shops and scenic viewpoints along the way. You will arrive at your next accommodation in Tanzania by mid-to-late afternoon. After settling into your accommodation, you will enjoy an afternoon activity. This morning, you will be transferred by road to the airstrip for your flight to Serengeti National Park. You will be met and transferred to your next safari camp in time for an afternoon or evening game drive. In the pre-dawn hours of the morning, your driver will pick you up and transfer you to the balloon launch site. As the launch team inflates the balloon, meet your pilot and have a safety briefing before climbing into the basket. You will slowly rise into the air as your balloon ascends into the morning sky, the sun peeking over the horizon—streaking the sky with brilliant colors. Your balloon will hover quietly in the breeze before taking you on a wildlife viewing adventure with a ‘bird’s eye view’ perspective. For one unforgettable hour, which will pass in a blink, you’ll soar over the expansive landscape and quietly observe the wildlife below. Your pilot will then successfully return you to earth where you will enjoy a celebratory bush champagne breakfast. After breakfast, you will transfer back to camp and then depart again in the afternoon for a game drive. Continue to enjoy your day game viewing in the Serengeti! Today you will enjoy a game viewing activity en route to the local airstrip where you will fly to Tarime. On arrival in Tarime, you will transfer by road to the Isebania border crossing post, where you will clear customs and immigrations. Then you will be transferred by road to Migori for your second flight to the Masai Mara. On arrival in the Masai Mara, you will be met by your guide and transferred by road to your accommodation before heading out on a game viewing activity in the afternoon. The famed plains of the Masai Mara host the world’s greatest wildlife spectacle each year between July and September…the wildebeest migration. Yet, all year-round, the reserve pulses with life as dramas great and small unfold between resident populations, including prides of lion, hyena, leopard, jackal, and an abundance of plains game such as elephant, zebra, gazelle, and giraffe. Each day, you will rise early and depart with your guide to search for tracks and spoor, which will lead to unbelievable sightings and close observations throughout the morning. By mid-morning, you will return to camp for a sumptuous brunch and some relaxation time. Perhaps take a mid-day siesta, cozy up with a book, or casually bird watch from camp. Enjoy your final day of safari game viewing and your final night in Africa. Today you will take a charter flight to Nairobi, where you will be met by a private driver who will then drive you to the Nairobi International Airport.
