EXPERIENCE DETAILS

First planted in 1878 by the pioneer winemaker John Drummond and later owned by civil rights hero Mary Ellen Pleasant, Beltane Ranch has been passed down through six generations of the Wood family since they took ownership in 1936. Today, this family ranch offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore 105 acres of gardens, orchards, vineyards and grazing horses and cattle on one of the last family-owned and operated ranches in the heart of California’s Wine Country.

Stay “inn” at this charming bed and breakfast, named a top luxury farm stay by Forbes Magazine, for three days as you explore the property, enjoy its produce and experience the surrounding area of Sonoma Valley. While you’ll enjoy plenty of wine, this weekend is about so much more.

With panoramic valley, vineyard and garden views from every room, breakfast provided on your private patio and known as the best place to watch the sunset in wine country, you may not want to leave the ranch at all. But when you do, you’ll enjoy food & wine tastings overlooking the nearby Mayacama Mountains, a hike in a nearby state park, and a relaxing spa treatment before an upscale dinner in downtown Sonoma.

While you’re on the ranch, pack up a picnic lunch of farm-fresh food to be enjoyed anywhere on the property, and know there is a four-course al fresco meal awaiting you for dinner. Cap off your dining experiences with a cooking class led by the estate’s chef on your final day. Everything is paired with the ranch’s wines, which include 100% estate grown and certified sustainable sauvignon blanc and zinfandel.

More than your typical food and wine tour, this weekend in the heart of Sonoma offers a glimpse back in time to the birthplace of California winemaking. As you depart this landmark location, you’ll leave with a sense of legacy.
