Trip Details

Set on 27,000 acres, tucked between the Big Bend National and State Parks, lies the Lajitas Golf Resort & Spa. With shooting courses, an equestrian center, and, of course, golf, the resort is just as famous for its activities as it is for its natural beauty and rugged landscape.

Complete with its own private airstrip, you’ll waste no time after arrival and head straight to Black Jack’s Crossing, the course designed by PGA Hall of Famer Lanny Wadkins. Voted both the best and most beautiful course in Texas, the course includes breathtaking holes with spectacular mountain vistas, combining historical features of the land with the stunning setting of Big Bend National Park.

In between the weekend’s 54 holes, explore the rest of the ranch with dinner under the stars in the Lajitas backcountry and a cowboy shooting experience, walking through the town of Stargazer Mesa shooting a single-action pistol, a side-by-side shot-gun, and a lever-action rifle at nostalgic and awaiting targets. Finish the night with a hand of poker at the Thirsty Goat Saloon before returning to your “cowboy chic” accommodations, complete with cowhide rugs, rough-hewn saddles and all the amenities.

On your final morning, you have the option for one last round or a sunrise trail ride through the desert terrain to the top of a scenic mesa. Enjoy a breakfast burrito and a glass of champagne before you return to the ranch and load up for home. A short flight closes out what is sure to be a remarkable long weekend.
