EXPERIENCE DETAILS

Highlights

  • Ski-in, ski-out accommodations at The Blake in the heart of Taos Ski Valley Resort.
  • More than 1,294 acres of skiable terrain across 110 trails and 15 lifts, perfect for all levels of skiers and snowboarders.
  • A morning in the Spa & Wellness Center to enjoy a massage or body treatment.
  • Be inspired by local artists on a gallery crawl of Taos, as well as the opportunity to try pottery spinning yourself.
  • Tour the Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and learn about pueblo culture from a local storyteller.

The southernmost subrange of the Rocky Mountains, the Sangre de Cristos stretches from New Mexico to Colorado with ten peaks soaring more than 14,000 feet high. Representing thousands of years of culture and known for their wilder elements, these mountains also reflect the town that lies in their heart — Taos.

Experience this unique combination during your three-day, two-night ski weekend at the The Blake, complete with ski-in, ski-out accommodations at the base of the mountain in Taos Ski Valley. With every detail taken care of, including warm boots upon arrival and the latest skis and snowboards available at the hotel’s ski valet, you’ll waste no time getting to the 1,294 acres of skiable terrain across 110 trails and 15 lifts.

With a base elevation of 9,207 feet, Taos Ski Valley is a powder lover’s paradise, with notoriously manageable lift lines and a variety of terrain for all levels of skiers. For those looking to make first tracks, head straight up to the top of Kachina Peak at 12,481 feet for expert chutes, bumps, cornices and tree glades. For beginner and intermediate skiers, half of Taos’ acreage is rated blue and green, with miles of well-manicured slopes and gradual groomers.

And while most of your time will be spent on the slopes, a trip to Taos wouldn’t be complete without out an homage to the town itself. Get inspired by local artists on a guided gallery tour before dinner on night two, and enjoy a night of storytelling on day one from a local pueblo man to learn about pueblo culture. In between all the action, there’s no better way to recover from a few days of skiing than at The Blake’s Spa & Wellness Center, where you can enjoy a massage or body treatments for hydration and detoxification.

After a final afternoon with some last turns down your favorite runs, wave goodbye to the Sangre de Cristos from your private plane as it flies over them headed for home.

FAQ

Why are we not staying in Taos proper?
The Town of Taos is actually approximately 30 minutes away from the ski slopes of Taos Ski Valley. The Blake hotel we have selected is actually ski in/ski out and known for its great service and ski valet! The hotel has also been newly renovated and has wonderful facilities at the spa and wellness center.

How much terrain is there at Taos Mountain?
Skiers have access to 1,294 acres of skiable terrain across 110 trails and 15 lifts. The base of Taos Ski Valley is at 9,207 feet and is a powder lover’s paradise known for having light, dry powder, undetectable lift lines, steep chutes, big bumps, cornices and tree glades. For those looking to make some untouched powder turns, hike or ride to the top of Kachina Peak. The mountain towers over the resort at 12,481 feet and offers some of the finest advanced to expert terrain in North America. However, don’t be too intimidated as half of Taos Ski Valley's runs are rated for beginner/intermediate skiers, so there is a great mix of terrain for all ability types.

Does Taos Mountain have a Terrain Park or offer lessons?
Yes, and Yes! Maxie's Terrain Park is looking better than it ever has with smaller jumps, rollers, and features for those just beginning on skiers right while skier's left features a larger line, including several big airs, and their brand-new manual pad enabling everyone something to enjoy in the freestyle terrain park. Additionally, Taos Ski Valley has one of the top-rated ski and board schools in the country including a variety of adult lessons, both group and private.
