More than your standard golf weekend, this getaway has a “choose your own adventure” style with plenty of options to keep it interesting. Over three days just outside of Austin, Texas, enjoy 54 holes of golf on your choice of eight exclusive courses and meals at a number of delightful dining options, as well as a few adventurous surprises.
On the morning of day one, take your pick of the front nine or back nine at one of four courses at The Hills of Lakeway Country Club. Designed by Leon Howard, the Yaupon and Live Oak make up the Lakeway Courses, while Jack Nicklaus designed the two Hills Courses, the Hills Signature and Flintrock Falls. You’ll finish up your round after lunch at one of the club’s three restaurants and before checking into your hotel. Don’t worry about the other courses just yet, you’ll have the opportunity to try another tomorrow.
Before your adventure continues, take the evening to rest up at the Omni Barton Creek, a newly-renovated, well-manicured property just a short drive from The Hills of Lakeway with four well-rated courses of its own. You’ll have the opportunity to tee off on one of them on day three, but you’ll enjoy the resort’s premium amenities, five-star service and “spirit of the Texas Hill Country” all weekend long.
After two full days of calculated decision making for your golf game, we have taken the pressure off and made the excellent choice for you of a private sailboat charter for your second evening. Setting off from the Lakeway Marina, this two-hour tour on the largest sailing yacht on Lake Travis is scheduled for a spectacular sunset. Beverages are provided on board, and the experienced crew is more than happy to share their sailing knowledge — they’ll even let you steer! After docking, head to a nearby speakeasy for drinks and cigars.
While the options are endless, unfortunately the weekend is not. Thankfully, you can always come back for more.
